Stratovarius（灵云乐队）成立于1984年，由三个来自芬兰、赫尔辛基的年轻人组成，他们分别是鼓手兼主唱Tuomo Lassila，贝斯手John Vihervaauml以及吉他手Staffan Straaringahlman。在他们正式取名为Stratovarius之前这三人以Black Water的名字对外演出。
　  Stratovarius早期的音乐与如今差别甚大，在那个时候乐队深受Black Sabbath和Ozzy Osbourne的影响，而吉他手Staffan为乐队引进了古典音乐元素。随后贝斯手John在84年年底离开乐队为Jyrki Lentonen所取代，Jyrki先前与Timo Tolkki一起在一个名为Road Block的乐队表演。
      这首 Forever 出自 Stratovarius 1996 年的《Episode》，几乎可以说是这支乐队最为传诵的作品。
